They’re getting ready to scale some impressive heights at Soaring Eagle H.D. Truck Parts.
The Winkler-based company – an offshoot of the familiar Soaring Eagle Grain Equipment – will throw open its doors at 480 George Ave with a Grand Opening on Thursday, July 10, and the team is excited to introduce its products and partners to existing and prospective customers.
“We specialize in heater boxes for Kenworth semis, and we recently launched a new product for Peterbilts as well,” says Myron Thiessen, Soaring Eagle’s general manager. “Our main thing is HVAC assemblies and replacements, and we also have a large selection of stainless steel and aluminum truck parts and accessories.”
As company president Tim Penner explains, the July 10 Grand Opening will be a culmination of both long-term vision and rapid growth.
“I’ve always worked in manufacturing, and growing up I had this ‘building mentality’, I guess you would call it. I built 164 scale toys on my desk and was always interested in building stuff,” he recalls. “Now I’m kind of just building on a larger scale.”
It was back in 2017 that Soaring Eagle Grain Equipment got off the ground, and by 2020, Penner and his staff were noticing increased demand for truck parts. Thiessen started making heater boxes in the corner of the shop, and in less than two years, the business had doubled.
“It’s just kept on doubling every year,” says Thiessen, who also helped bring Joplin, Missouri’s 4 State Trucks aboard in 2023.
The partnership began with 4 State selling Soaring Eagle products, but more recently, Soaring Eagle has become the first authorized 4 State dealer in Canada.
“4 State Trucks has roughly 220 employees working in 200,000 square feet of warehousing dedicated to having stock on truck parts,” Thiessen explains. “They literally have everything, and it puts us in a very good spot to be able to source products quickly, when our customers need it, and at affordable rates.”
Penner adds that Soaring Eagle’s location in Winkler is also an advantage, as the business is able to provide affordable shipping to both western and eastern Canada. The prospective customer base, after all, is a large one.
“We serve anyone in the agricultural mechanic fields, the trucking industry and anyone working on big rig trucks or semi and highway tractors,” Penner says. “There are a lot of opportunities for a lot of different types of customers.”
It’s an impressive reach for a business that started small so recently. It’s something worth celebrating.
