Tail Light Tuesday continues into July with a new monthly non-profit Partner.
The Canadian Mental Health Association was able to open up the month with the Rogue Cruisers at the Living Sky Casino on Canada Day on July 1.
Folks poured into the parking lot, making donations to the CMHA, and showing off their various hotrods. Jeremy Roberts, executive director at the CMHA, was happy to see the nearly 80 cars in attendance, which bodes well for their other shows.
"We've got a few exciting things coming up," teased Roberts. "We're going to be selling puffed wheat squares in a couple of weeks, and we also have our stay weird mugs for sale."
Cory Schultz, co-founding member of the Rouge Cruisers, was thrilled to see such a strong turnout on the nation's birthday as well.
"We got our Canada flag flying, and we got lots of new stuff," said Schultz. "It's a great evening, and I'll call it a great end to Frontier Days week, with everybody just kind of relaxing and hanging out."
One of the most notable aspects of the Canada Day show was all the red and white Mercury trucks, and various other Merc's in attendance, showing off a strong contingent of vintage Canadian horsepower.
"There's lots of great Canadian stuff, and it's neat," said Schultz. "Dustin (Vipond) said maybe we should try and get red and white, red and white, red and white."
Tail Light Tuesdays take place every Tuesday over the summer, running only once the weather becomes too chilly for the most die-hard enthusiasts. The event is free to attend and free to enter. The usual start time is 5:30 p.m.
