The Haunted Town of Lil Sur Mer is preparing for a whole new kind of horror-themed event.

Famous for the annual Haunted Town tours they host throughout the Halloween season, the board has decided to host a new Zombie Survival Event for a single day only.

Andy Keys, board chair for the Haunted Town, says the event will be a zombie survival scavenger hunt, with no paintball elements.

"It's something that we've been kind of planning on for about the last four or five years," said Keys. " We've always wanted to bring a summer event, and this year we put together a Zombie Survival Event."

Last year, they had an event where you could shoot at zombie actors with paintballs.

The event will feature actors dressed up as zombies once again, but there will not be an option to go on the offensive against them. People who buy their tickets will be given a full overview of how the event will work and a breakdown of the rules and objectives, which will be emailed to participants.

"We just sat down and hashed out the rules, and we think we've got a pretty good set for people to work with," said Keys.

The event will be operated as a fundraiser for the Haunted Town of Lil Sur Mer, helping with the costs associated with running the location and events.

Tickets are $40 for a regular experience, while a VIP ticket is $50.

"The difference between a regular ticket and a VIP one is something I don't want to give away too much on," said Keys. "Too many secrets out there."

For ticket purchases, people can text 306-992-1503. Registration allows people to arrive early for a meal at 6 p.m. at the Haunted Town.
