Wednesday might be a good day to find some shade or stay inside with the air conditioner on if you’re in the Humboldt area.
The thermometer is expected to continue to climb, surpassing 30°C and with the humidex it will feel closer to 40°C.
Meteorologist for Environment and Climate Change Canada Crawford Luke says the warm weather is coming from the south.
“We have a steady south breeze that’s setting up later on tonight (Tuesday) and it’s just going to continue through the day tomorrow and it’s going to bring with it a bunch of hot air from the south and humidity.”
With the warm temperatures and humidity, it shouldn’t be a surprise to see that some shower activity is in the forecast for Wednesday night.
“It looks more likely for tomorrow night as opposed to the day, "said Luke. I think the day will be pretty dry, pretty sunny.
Luke added during the evening we will see the cold front come through from the northwest and when that happens there’s a chance of showers and possibly a thunderstorm.
Even though there will be a breeze coming from the south, Luke noted that it will only provide some relief if you’re in a shady spot.
“If you’re out in the sun, it’s going to be pretty hot and a little soupy.”
After a warm Wednesday, the temperature will slightly cool off, but Luke added that it should remain in a pleasant summer range, below 30°C.
At the end of the week, Luke said the smoke may drift into the Humboldt area from the northern wildfires.
