Threats against police officers, domestic disputes, and theft kept Estevan police busy over the past couple of days as they responded to multiple calls across the city.
On July 7, police received a report of a man panhandling outside a central Estevan business. Due to a high call volume at the time, members were unable to immediately attend. A description was provided, and officers later located the individual and spoke to him about his actions.
Officers also responded to a complaint of loud music coming from a home in the north-central area of the city. Police spoke with the homeowner about the concern.
A report was received about a male riding a dirt bike in the 500 block of First and Second streets. Patrols were conducted, but the rider was not located.

The firearm was determined to be a BB gun. The youth was cautioned under the city bylaw and advised that discharging such a device within city limits is unlawful.
Later that day, officers attended a domestic disturbance after receiving a report of someone breaking into a home. Further investigation revealed the individuals involved are going through a separation, and both have rights to the property. Police mediated the situation, and one person left for the night.
Several curfew checks were conducted on individuals with court-ordered conditions. One person was found not to be home during their curfew, and charges are pending.

During the arrest, the 38-year-old Estevan man allegedly uttered threats to kill police and assaulted an officer. He was lodged in cells until sober and released with a court appearance notice for September.

A 33-year-old Estevan woman was arrested for assault following a statement from a victim earlier in the day. She was also charged with mischief for damaging the victim’s property. She was released on an undertaking with conditions, including no contact with the victim, and will appear in court in September.
In a separate incident, a 44-year-old Estevan man was arrested for breaching conditions prohibiting contact with a victim he had assaulted earlier this year. Police say further investigation revealed additional breaches. He was held in custody to appear before a judge.
