Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for parts of Central Alberta.
Conditions are favourable for the development of dangerous thunderstorms that may be capable of producing damaging wind gusts and large hail.
Thunderstorms are beginning to develop in west-central Alberta and will move east throughout the day. Some of these thunderstorms may become severe this afternoon.
Thunderstorms are expected to be moving very fast today, possibly more than 60 km/h.
There is also a very slight risk of a tornado.

There is a severe thunderstorm warning for Red Deer County near Spruce View and Red Lodge Provincial Park
This thunderstorm is located near Raven, and is heading to the southeast at 30 km/h.
Take immediate cover if a thunderstorm approaches. If outside, protect yourself from flying debris and hail.
Severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes.
Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are expected to produce damaging hail, wind or rain.
