The sweet sounds of Scottish piping and drumming echoed across the front lawn of the Cochrane Public Library as siblings Kellan and Berkeley Harris-Still launched the Sounds of Summer concert series on Tuesday evening.

More than 50 people gathered under the early evening sun to enjoy two sets, get a behind-the-scenes look at the traditional instruments, and learn more about the Cochrane Pipe Band.

The Sounds of Summer series will continue to bring free live performances to the library’s front garden every Tuesday through Aug. 12, from 5 to 7:30 p.m.

Residents are invited to pack a picnic, roll out a blanket, and soak up the summer vibes as local musicians share their songs, stories, and inspirations. From toe-tapping tunes to soulful melodies, there’s something for every music lover—and maybe even your next favourite artist.
