So, yesterday was Fashion Day. A day to apparently celebrate fashion and all it's iterations. Well, I tried to do that, wearing my socks and sandals which I frequently do. Well good golly Miss Molly, it was as if I picked up Calvin Klein and dropped him off a bridge I offended so many people by my fashion choice!
Fashion is subjective. Just the same as art. What I think is art, others may not, and vice versa. But with fashion, it seems that 'subjective' part only applies when it doesn't hurt someone's retinas.
I have been rocking (yes, ROCKING) socks and sandals for a very long time. Long before it was suddenly cool again for high school kids to wear them. Was it ever cool to wear? No, probably not. But I choose comfort over cool. Also I might add, ancient Romans and Egyptians wore socks and sandals; the first documented usage was in 300 AD. So, I'm not breaking any mold, I'm just bringing it back. I'm a trend setter!
Now, if someone really wants to get creative, wear shorts over pants. Or perhaps two hats, facing opposite direction. Than suddenly, socks and sandals don't look so bad, now does it? :)
