A 63-year-old Winkler man has died following a collision involving a motorcycle and a car in Morden Wednesday evening.
According to the Morden Police Service, the crash occurred at approximately 6:27 pm on July 9th at the intersection of Highway 3 and Buhler Drive. Emergency crews from the Morden Police, Morden Fire, and EMS responded to the scene.
Initial findings suggest the westbound car had stopped in traffic, signalling a left turn onto Buhler Drive, when it was struck from behind by a motorcycle travelling in the same direction.
The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital and later passed away due to his injuries. The driver of the car, a 26-year-old Morden man, received minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
Morden Police remained on site into the evening with support from Winkler and Altona Police Services. Investigators do not believe alcohol or drugs were factors in the collision. The investigation is ongoing.
