Envision Counselling and Support Services is preparing for a major move that will help the organization continue expanding mental health services in southeast Saskatchewan.
After years of growing demand, Envision has outgrown its current space and will soon relocate to the former Estevan Mercury building. Communications advisor Raven Daer says the move reflects both the agency's growth and the community’s support.
“Over the course of the last few years, we’ve been expanding our services to meet the needs of individuals in the region,” she said. “Our old building has been a great home and a good stepping stone, but we’re ready to move forward into that next chapter.”
The decision to purchase the new building came after careful consideration. Daer said their board and management team worked together to look at different properties in town, ultimately choosing a location that offers more privacy and accessibility, while still being welcoming to the public.
“We wanted a space that was a little more secluded, not right in the heart of the city, but still easy to get to,” she explained. “We think we’ve found the perfect location for us.”
The expansion comes as Envision continues to see growing demand for mental health and wellness services. The organization is also working to extend its reach, with new permanent locations planned for Moosomin and Rocanville. They are still looking to hire a counsellor for those communities and hope to have the new spaces up and running in the coming weeks.
Like many non-profits, Envision relies on a combination of government funding and community support. Donations help cover a wide range of expenses, from staffing and utilities to cybersecurity and phone systems.
“Our biggest costs are really all of those things combined,” she said. “We are grateful for government funding, but community donations help keep the lights on, keep staff supported, and ensure that our services are secure and accessible.”
As Envision prepares for its move in the coming months, Daer encouraged anyone interested in supporting mental health services to visit their website at envisioncounselingcenter.com. People can donate, volunteer, or learn more about how the organization is helping individuals across the southeast.
