The closure of King Street has presented some challenges for residents in the area, with detours in place for road work being done until the end of the summer.
While the residents are dependent on back alley access to their homes, area resident Tara Keating-Jaap said, "Honestly, a little bit of inconvenience is necessary if they can get the pavement to be nicer and better. It's a main road and hasn't been in good repair for years now. We really appreciate the City of Weyburn and Jeff Richards and Council for working so hard to make this finally happen! Very appreciated!"
Highway 35 north is not accessible from 5th Avenue north. In a previous article, Engineering Director Renee Cugnet said drivers can access Highway 35 north via 16th Street, which turns into Range Road 2143, routing back to the highway on Township Road 90.

With King Street closed, Saskatchewan Drive is also not accessible from 5th Avenue north.
The City of Weyburn has put out a map for those wondering how to access the Community Health building, which is usually accessed via Saskatchewan Drive. This is also an alternate route for the residents of the Riverwood community.
Access to the area is via First Avenue north (Highway 13) and Queen Street north, or Range Road 2145:

Due to the Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways roundabout project, First Avenue north (Highway 13) does not currently connect to Highway 39. Those who wish to access Highway 39 from within the city must access it via Third Street or Government Road.
