Five members of the Swift Current 57's have made the WCBL All-Star game.
Catcher Luis Ayala, infielder Wilmer Henriquez, outfielder Silas Hilton, along with pitchers Brody Bornstein and Adam Korte, made the East Division roster for the game on Saturday, July 19th in Okotoks.
Henriquez is tied 2nd in the WCBL this season with 8 home runs. He's hitting .310 with 20 runs scored and 19 RBI.
Ayala has a team-leading .345 average with 2 home runs, 17 runs scored, and 11 RBI. He leads the team in stolen bases with 6.
Hilton is hitting .306 and often leads off for the 57's with 21 runs scored, 3 home runs, and 13 RBI.
Korte is tied for 2nd in the WCBL in innings pitched and is 11th in the league in strikeouts with 29. He has a 4.13 earned run averageĀ
Bornstein has made 12 appearances, mostly in relief. He has 21 strikeouts compared to only 10 walks.
Swift Current is back on the road today as they visit the Regina Red Sox.
The 57's are looking for a bounce-back effort after being blown out in Regina on Tuesday.
They then head to Medicine Hat on Friday and play two games in Saskatoon on Saturday and Sunday.
