The Stride Credit Union Fundraising Golf Tournament made its return on Thursday, July 10, drawing dozens of golfers to the Portage Golf Club for a full day of friendly competition, all in support of STARS Air Ambulance

Hot day, big hearts

From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., golfers took to the course under hot, humid conditions, powering through the heat with cold drinks, good company, and a shared commitment to a good cause. Despite the sweltering weather, spirits stayed high throughout the day.

Raising funds for critical care

Now in its third year, the tournament once again raised funds for STARS Air Ambulance, a service that delivers life-saving medical care to rural, remote, and Indigenous communities in Manitoba. With this year’s total added in, Stride has now contributed $25,000 toward supporting STARS' mission.

A new course, same strong turnout

This was the first time the tournament was held at the Portage Golf Club, a venue that proved popular with both seasoned players and newcomers alike. The golfers concluded the event with a hearty supper and plenty of laughter.

Thanks to the sponsors

Local businesses helped make the day a success, with sponsorships from Keystone Sports Excellence, GoldenWest, Newground, RE/MAX, MNP, Cobbe’s Plumbing, Panko’s Food Centre, and several others.

For Stride Credit Union and everyone involved, the day was more than just golf, it was a show of support for a service that continues to be a lifeline across Manitoba.
