A personal impersonation
On July 4th, the Winkler Police Service received a report of a troubling attempted scam from an individual in the community.
The report stated that a man received a call impersonating his son.
Requesting a significant amount of money
The scam caller stated that he was in a vehicle accident and was subsequently arrested because there was “a large amount of drugs located in the vehicle,” according to the Winkler police report.
The caller asked for $4,000 in bail money.
