July 10th Report:

Arrest Warrants / IPDA / Breach of the Peace

In the last 24 hours three individuals were arrested due to their warrants being executed.

One individual was arrested for Intoxicated Persons Detention Act (IPDA) and two for Breach of the Peace. All three of these incidents included highly intoxicated individuals. Each incident resulted in an individual being arrested and held in Brandon Police Service (BPS) detention cells. They will be released once sober.  

Assault

On June 26th, 2025, an Assault occurred in Stanley Park. On July 9th, as a result of a follow up investigation, a 26-year-old male was brought to BPS and charged with Assault. He was released via Undertaking with a court date of September 4th, 2025.  

Assault X2

On July 9th an intoxicated 31-year-old male attended the home of his partner in the 100 block of 17th Street. While in the residence he assaulted her (31) and her female friend (31) by pushing, grabbing and attempting to kick them. The women safely left the residence and declined medical attention. Police attended and arrested the male. He was brought to BPS and kept in detention cells. He will be released once sober on an Undertaking with a court date of September 22nd, 2025.

Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose X3

On July 9th at 8:25PM an employee of a business in the 300 block of 18th St N reported a male intruder had entered the building with a sharp object and was banging on the glass with it. He then blocked the door to the building using a luggage rack with a machete strapped to it preventing anyone from coming in or out. Upon Police arrival, the 49-year-old male who was intoxicated by drug complied. Also located with the male was an additional knife and a sock with a rock in it. The male was held overnight to be released sober via Undertaking in the morning with a court a date of September 18th, 2025.

Failure to Comply Undertaking

On July 9th at 2:25PM a vehicle was stopped in the 300 block of 8th Street. A 37-year-old female was driving while prohibited. A ticket was issued and the vehicle she was driving was towed. She was failing to comply with her Undertaking conditions to not occupy the driver’s seat of a vehicle. She was arrested and later released via Appearance Notice with a court date of September 4th, 2025.

 

July 11th Report:

IPDA (Intoxicated Persons Detention Act)

On July 11th at 2:58AM First Nation Safety Officers reported a disturbance due to an intoxicated male at a hotel in the 3100 block of Victoria Avenue. The 34-year-old male was brought to Brandon Police Service (BPS) detention cells. He will be released in the morning once sober.

Arrest Warrants

In the last 24 hours five individuals were arrested on the strength of their warrants.

Breach of the Peace

On July 11th at 5:46AM security at a hotel in the 3100 block of Victoria Avenue reported a disturbance. A 49-year-old female who was highly intoxicated and uncooperative was arrested and held in BPS detention cells. She will be released in the morning once sober.

Possession of a Weapon

On July 10th at 10:25AM an employee reported a male lying on the steps of a building in the 1100 block of 7th Street who smelled of alcohol. Police attended and found the 26-year-old male who was in possession of a machete. The male was arrested and held in detention cells with court in the morning.

Theft Under $5000 / Resist Arrest

On July 10th at 11:11AM an employee from a business in the 800 block of 18th Street reported a shoplifter who took off with groceries. The male was located nearby by police officers. The male ran from police but was soon apprehended and arrested. The male was held in detention cells and will be released via Undertaking once sober. A court date of September 15th, 2025 has been set.
