Yesterday marked the first day of Parks Week in Saskatchewan, where provincial parks are inviting visitors to explore nature with events and activities lined up at parks across the province.
In a release sent by the Government of Saskatchewan, Parks, Culture and Sport Minister Alana Ross is quoted saying "Saskatchewan Parks Week is a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, connect with nature and experience the vibrant events happening throughout our parks."
"We invite everyone to get out and discover all the ways our parks can inspire, rejuvenate and bring people together. This year we have added a special offer with free entry to any provincial park on July 19. It's an invitation to everyone in Saskatchewan to explore the beauty of our provincial parks."
Moose Mountain Provincial Park is only a one-and-a-half-hour drive from Weyburn and boasts a full schedule of events for the week. Including craft opportunities, educational experiences like paddling lessons or a hands-on lesson on pollinators, an orienteering bird hunt, and a view of the park from Indigenous perspectives.
They will wrap up the week on Saturday with Hike the Uplands, a guided hike of the Moose Mountain Uplands joined by park interpreters. This coincides Parks Day, that offers free admission to all provincial parks. Find a full list of events on SaskParks.com.
