A 37-year-old man has died following a shooting in Teulon over the weekend. 

At approximately 10:40 p.m. on July 13, Stonewall RCMP located a 37-year-old male with life-threatening injuries at a residence located on 7th Avenue SE in Teulon.

The victim was transported to the hospital and later pronounced deceased. Officers believe it was a homicide. 

While on the scene, officers located a vehicle which is believed to be involved and attempted a traffic stop. Officers initiated a traffic stop that abruptly came to an end when the suspect drove into a cornfield. 

Along with the RCMP Emergency Response Team, the area was contained and the lone occupant of the vehicle was arrested without incident. Officers seized a firearm.

The 24-year-old male remains in custody and police are not searching for other suspects. 

Stonewall RCMP, along with RCMP Major Crime Services and Forensic Identification Services, continue to investigate.
