If we're not counting the obvious things, like my kids, my wife and my family, the other things I love are pretty obvious to those that know me. I love the show Seinfeld, the Indiana Pacers and Toronto Blue Jays, and Superman. I had the comics, dressed up as him for Halloween, and have (at times when I was beard-less) been told I look like him too. I also bought the 4 Superman movies with Christopher Reeves from Creative Video when they were selling all their films prior to their closing.

I went with a few friends to check out the new Superman movie this weekend. And I was all about it! I've heard various mixed reviews, but the majority of them are praising the direction these Superman films. I might not be able to quote the different iterations of the versions of Superman through the years in comics, but I'll sure be the first one to jump up at the chance to see new films, or find random Superman accessories.

I think my main point here, aside from making myself look like a big nerd, is if you have childhood joys, things that bring you happiness, it doesn't matter how old you are. You can still enjoy them with the same childlike joy you had when you were a kid. I love Superman, and tell my kids if they want to get me a gift, anything Superman related works for me.

I'm happy to hold on to the happiness that my favorite superhero brings. Because when times are quite literally hard to manage and tough to see through to the end, sometimes a little Superman is enough to get you through.
