Filming has wrapped up on the third and final season of Billy the Kid in Calgary and the surrounding area.
The Alberta-shot western drama historical drama, which stars Tom Blyth as the iconic Old West outlaw, will conclude with an eight-episode season. No release date has been announced but is expected later this year.
According to ACTRA Alberta, filming began near the end of March and like previous seasons, filming locations included Calgary, the CL Western Town, and Kananaskis Country.

Created by Michael Hirst, Billy the Kid follows the life and legend of William H. Bonney. The final season picks up after the Lincoln County War, as tensions linger between Billy and Sheriff Pat Garrett (Alex Roe).
“The Lincoln County War may be officially over, but both Billy the Kid and Sheriff Pat Garrett have important issues to resolve — there is a reckoning to come,” the official synopsis states. “Billy is still at large, and Garrett is out to capture him, dead or alive.”
With a bounty on his head and a chance to escape New Mexico to be with Dulcinea (Nuria Vega), the woman he loves, Billy must choose between freedom and unfinished business with Garrett, who betrayed him. Meanwhile, Jesse Evans (Daniel Webber), Billy’s former friend and rival, remains in Lincoln searching for redemption.
As the saga nears its end, the show promises a dramatic conclusion: “Billy will fight like hell to try to finally find the justice that has long eluded him — even if it means he’ll die trying.”
Amazon MGM Studios produces the series in association with Amblin Television and De Line Pictures. Executive producers include Hirst, Donald De Line, Darryl Frank, and Justin Falvey.
Season 1 of Billy the Kid premiered in April 2022, followed by Season 2 in October 2023. The series is currently available for streaming on fuboTV, MGM+ (via Amazon and Roku), Philo, and Spectrum On Demand.
