The Calgary Police Service (CPS) are warning those in the Calgary area about a planned gathering of outlaw motorcycle gang members this weekend.

This gathering includes members of the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club.

Due to that gathering, people can expect to see an influx of outlaw motorcycle gang members in the area, particularly on Friday (July 18).

In response to the gathering, the Calgary Police say they will have an increased presence throughout the city, monitoring the activities of those in attendance, ensuring no one breaks the law, including the Traffic Safety Act.

"We do not anticipate an increased risk to public safety," the Calgary Police stated in a media release.

According to the Calgary Police, motorcycle gangs host several events across the country every year, and these types of gatherings have, historically, happened without incident.

"The CPS, however, will be enforcing laws with this group as we would with any citizen."

The Calgary Police encourages people to report crimes in progress to 9-1-1.

Those in Calgary are also able to contact the CPS non-emergency line at 403-266-1234, and as always, anyone who wishes to remain anonymous can contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online, or through the P3 Tips app.
