The following is the RCMP report to July 12, 2025.  This reporting period, police responded to the following calls for service.

- 52 traffic violations

- 15 provincial statute (Mental Health Act, Fire Prevention Act, Coroner's Act, 911 Act)

- 32 common police activities (alarms, suspicious persons/vehicles, assistance to general public)

- 21 crimes against property 

- 10 other criminal code

- 11 crimes against person

- 3 traffic accidents

 

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:

Just a reminder that RCMP DO NOT do child abuse and adult abuse registry checks.  RCMP is responsible for criminal record checks and vulnerable sector checks.  You require a vulnerable sector check if you are in a position of trust. You must present to the detachment when applying for a vulnerable sector check. 

Position of Trust means a paid or voluntary position dealing with vulnerable people. Vulnerable people may include children, youth, the elderly, people with physical, developmental, emotional, social, or other disabilities, people who are addicted or dependent on addictive substances, and people who have been the victim of a crime or an accident.

Applicants who require a Vulnerable Sector Check from their organization must present themselves in person and provide written consent in order for the checks to be conducted.

Proper identification must be produced and recorded on the application: a government issued photo identification for the Primary Document, and a secondary document which verifies the Primary identification.

YOUTH CRIMINAL RECORD CHECKS

Criminal record checks cannot be done on youth unless working in Government. It has been established that non-provincially or municipally run summer camps and pools, public/private schools including colleges/universities are not government employers.

 

June 23, 2025

Police responded to a call for uttering threats in Belmont. The matter was unfounded.

Police received a report of a dangerous driver in Killarney. Members patrolled the area however the vehicle was gone on arrival.

Police responded to a call for an assault in Killarney. A male was arrested and lodged in cells and later released on an undertaking to appear in court.

Police received a report of harassing communications in Boissevain. Police followed up with the complainant who stated they did not want police to follow up at this time therefor the matter was unfounded.

 

June 24, 2025

While on patrol, police conducted a traffic stop in Killarney. Upon activation of emergency lights the driver attempted to flea, hitting another parked vehicle before crashing into the ditch. The driver turned himself in and was arrested and released on an undertaking to appear in court at a later date.

 

June 25, 2025

Police received a report of a suspicious person in Killarney. Police patrolled the area however the person was gone on arrival.

Police responded to a request for a wellbeing check in Baldur. Police were unable to locate the person and the complainant was updated.

Police received a report of uttering threats in the RM of Argyle. The complainant declined to proceed with an charges.

Police received a report of an abandoned vehicle in Killarney. The vehicle had previously been reported and the matter was concluded.

Police received a report for an animal call in the RM of Cartwright-Roblin. Police followed up with the parties involved and the matter was concluded.

 

June 26, 2025

Police responded to a call under the mental health act in Hartney.

Police received a report of a suspicious person in Killarney. The complainant was reporting for information purposes only.

Police received a report of a break and enter in the RM of Deloraine-Winchester. The complainant was again reporting for information purposes only.

Police received a report of mischief in Waskada. Police followed up with the complainant who did not want to proceed with any investigation.

 

June 27, 2025

Police responded to a call for disturbing the peace in Killarney. Police separated the parties involved and the matter was concluded without charges.

Police responded to a call under the 911 act in Deloraine.

Police received a report of dangerous driving in the RM of Killarney-Turtle Mountain. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police received a report of a fraud in Cartwright. The matter was unfounded.

Police received a report of theft in Goodlands. Police followed up with the complainant and other parties involved and determined no theft had occurred.

Police responded to a call under the mental health act in the Municipality of Boissevain-Morton.

Police responded to a call for a wellbeing check in Killarney. All parties were located safe.

Police received a report of mischief in Killarney. The matter is under investigation.

 

June 28, 2025

Police received a report of a dangerous driver in Killarney. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police received a report of a suspicious person in the RM of Prairie Lakes. Police patrolled the area and spoke with the person in question and the matter was concluded.

Police received a report of another suspicious person in the RM of Prairie Lakes. Police located the person, provided them with information on local places to stay and the matter was concluded.

 

June 29, 2025

Police responded to a call for a check wellbeing in the RM of Prairie Lakes. Police located the person in question and conducted a traffic stop. A roadside screening device was issued which resulted in a warning. An immediate roadside suspension was given to the driver prohibiting driving for 3 days and the vehicle was towed.

Police received a report of mischief in Killarney. Patrols were made in the area however all parties were gone on arrival and there was insufficient evidence to proceed.

 

June 30, 2025

Police received a report of mischief in Killarney. Police followed up with the complainant however the situation was not a police matter. Members provided options for moving forward and the matter was concluded.

Police received a report of a dangerous driver in Ninette. Members patrolled the area however the vehicle was gone on arrival.

Police received a report of a theft of truck in Goodlands. The complainant phoned prior to police arriving and stated the vehicle had been returned.

Police received a report of a breach of peace in Ninette. The matter was concluded.

 

July 2, 2025

Police received a report of theft in the RM of Prairie Lakes. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police received a report of mischief in the RM of Killarney-Turtle Mountain. The situation was not a police matter.

Police received a report of fraud in the RM of Cartwright-Roblin. The complainant was reporting for information purposes only.

 

July 3, 2025

Police received a report of a breach of peace in Boissevain. Police patrolled the area however the person was gone on arrival.

Police responded to a call for an alarm in Deloraine. The building was secure, and police determined it was a false alarm.

 

July 4, 2025

Police received a report of mischief in Killarney. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police received a report of an abandoned vehicle in the RM of Brenda-Waskada. Police located the vehicle and the matter was concluded.

Police received a report of theft of mail in Boissevain. Police followed up with the complainant however there was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police received a report under the liquor act in Killarney. Members patrolled the area however no issues were noted. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police received a report of mischief in Boissevain. Police followed up with the complainant however there was insufficient evidence to proceed.

 

July 5, 2025

Police responded to a request for a wellbeing check in the Municipality of Boissevain-Morton. Police patrolled the area however the parties were gone on arrival.

Police received a report of a possible assault in Killarney. Police attended and spoke with the parties involved. No assault was disclosed and the matter was concluded without charges.

 

July 6, 2025

Police responded to a call for disturbing the peace in Killarney. Police patrolled the area however all parties were gone on arrival and no disturbances were located. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police received a report of a break and enter in Deloraine. Members followed up with the complainant however there was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police received a report of mischief in Killarney. Police followed up with the complainant however they declined to proceed with any further investigation.

Police responded to a call under the mental health act in Deloraine.

Police received a report of disturbing the peace in Killarney. Members followed up with the complainant who stated all parties involved had already left and police were not required.

Police responded to a call for a possible impaired driver in BoissevainPatrols were conducted in the area however the vehicle was gone on arrival.

Police responded to a request for a wellbeing check in Killarney. The person was located and transported to the hospital in stable condition.

 

July 9, 2025

Police received a report of fraud in Cartwright. Members attempted to follow up with the complainant however were unsuccessful after multiple attempts. The matter is under investigation.

Police received a report of harassing communications in Killarney. The matter is under investigation.

Police received a report of an abandoned vehicle in Boissevain. The matter is under investigation.

Police received another report of harassing communications in Boissevain. The matter is under investigation.

Police responded to a call for a suspicious person in Cartwright. Members located the person in question. A male was arrested and lodged in cells on an outstanding warrant.

Police received a report of disobeying order of court in Killarney. Members attended the location and determined no order was being disobeyed. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police received a request for a wellbeing check in the RM of Deloraine-Winchester. Police provided information to the complainant and the matter was concluded.

Police responded to another call for disobeying order of court in Killarney. A male was arrested and lodged in cells and released once sober.

Police received a report of a suspicious vehicle in the RM of Deloraine-Winchester. Police followed up with the complainant and the matter was concluded.

 

July 10, 2025

Police received a report under the 911 act in Belmont. Members followed up with the complainant and the matter was concluded.

 

July 11, 2025

Police received a report of disturbing the peace in Killarney. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police received a report of a breach of recognizance in Deloraine. The matter is under investigation.

Police received a report of fraud in Killarney. The complainant received a phone call stating they had won 9.5 million dollars and to claim the money they needed to purchase a joker gift card which would be picked up later in the day. No money lost. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.

It is important to report ALL thefts, stolen or lost property to police in a timely fashion so that it can be followed up on by police.

Police continue to remind residents to never provide personal information such as birth dates, SIN numbers, credit card numbers, or e-mail address to parties you do not know.  If you feel that you have been contacted by a fraudulent source, please contact police or Canadian Antifraud Center immediately for further instructions on what you can do.  Canadian Antifraud Centre can be reached directly at 1-888-495-8501, however also report same to the local detachment.

Due to the many reports of vehicle thefts, the public is reminded to secure parked and unattended vehicles and refrain from leaving valuables in plain view.

We would like to advise that the business hours of operation at the Killarney Detachment are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday. 

Boissevain Detachment business hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.

RCMP WOULD LIKE TO REMIND THE PUBLIC TO USE THE POLICE EMERGENCY LINE FOR YOUR LOCAL OFFICE (204) 523-7255 or 911.  The administration line may not be checked until the following day or possibly the Monday following a weekend.  Members may be in another community or on the road.
