July 22 Report:
Impaired
On July 21st at 8:30AM a report was received of a southbound vehicle colliding with and knocking over a hydro pole in the 400 block of 11th Street. Witnesses reported that the female driver fled the scene on foot. Officers located a 27-year-old female at the vehicle’s registered owners address who admitted to being the operator of the vehicle. She also admitted to taking the vehicle without the vehicle owner’s knowledge or permission. Breath tests showed 170 & 160 mgs%. The vehicle owner made a complaint statement substantiating the theft of his vehicle. The woman was arrested and will attend court in the morning on July 22nd, 2025.
Charges include Impaired Operation, Operation with Equal to or Exceeding 80mgs%, Operation of a Conveyance While Prohibited, Fail to Stop at Scene of Accident, and Theft of Motor Vehicle.
Unlawfully at Large / Public Mischief
On July 21st at approximately 8:38 PM, officers conducted a traffic stop in the 1700 block of Middleton Avenue. During the stop, one of the female occupants initially provided a false identity. She was later identified as a 24-year-old female who was wanted on a warrant for being Unlawfully at Large. She was taken into custody and placed in a Brandon Police Service (BPS) cruiser while the remaining vehicle occupants were identified. Shortly thereafter, the female went into medical distress. Officers administered Naloxone (Narcan) at the scene. Emergency Medical Services transported the female to the hospital by ambulance. Medical staff proceeded with additional care and the female spent the night at the hospital.
A court appearance has been scheduled for the following morning.
Arrest Warrants
In the last 24-hours three individuals were arrested on the strength of their Warrants for Arrest.
Assault Causing Bodily Harm
On July 21st an Assault was reported that occurred on July 18th, 2025 at a residence in Westaway Bay. A 21-year-old female attended the home of a 34-year-old female and punched the woman in the face and stomped on her foot. Police located the accused at her residence. She was arrested and released on an Undertaking with a court date of September 29th, 2025.
IPDA (Intoxicated Persons Detention Act)
On July 21st at 2:40PM a 35-year-old highly intoxicated male was brought to BPS by a First Nation Safety Officer to prevent further issues. The male was held in detention cells and will be released once sober.
Failure to Comply Probation X2 & Release Order
On July 21st at 4:26PM it was reported a male was aggressively panhandling outside of a business in the Corral Centre. The male had a box cutter knife laying on the ground where he was sitting. Police attended and found the 35-year-old male to be breaching two court orders that prohibit the possession of knives. The Probation Order also directs that he was not to attend the business of which he was at. The male was arrested and held in detention cells for court in the morning on July 22nd, 2025.
July 21 Report:
IPDA (Intoxicated Persons Detention Act) / Breach of the Peace
In the past 24 hours (July 20-21), three individuals were arrested for IPDA as well as two individuals for Breach of Peace. They [were] released in the morning once sober.
Immediate Roadside Prohibition
On July 20th at 9:50PM a vehicle was stopped in the 600 block of Princess Avenue. Upon breath sample, the driver was charged accordingly. The vehicle was towed, and a three-day impoundment, along with a three-day driver's licence suspension, was enforced.
Assault / Assault by Choking / Failure to Comply Release Order
On July 18th a 24-year-old male assaulted a 22-year-old female by punching and choking her while at a residence in Westaway Bay. On July 20th at 8:48PM, the male was located and arrested by Police in the 600 block of Princess Avenue. The male had not been residing at the residence as directed by his Release Order. He was held in BPS detention cells and will attend court in the morning.
Assault
On July 21st at approximately 1:12 a.m., Police received a report of an assault in the 1600 block of 18th Street involving a 26-year-old male and a 21-year-old female. The individuals were previously in a relationship and known to one another. Officers attended the scene and arrested the intoxicated male. He was held in BPS detention cells and will be released once sober via Undertaking with a court date of September 29th, 2025.
Arrest Warrants
In the past 24 hours, four individuals were arrested pursuant to outstanding warrants. Two of the individuals were held in detention and are scheduled to appear in court the following morning. The remaining two were released on Appearance Notices, with court dates set for August 25, 2025.
