Watrous Lakers capture 15U AA Tier 3 Provincial Title in dominant fashion

The 15U Watrous Lakers won the 15U AA Tier 3 Provincial Championship on the weekend in Unity. 

It was a slow start for the Lakers on Friday as they were defeated in their first game against the Southern Aces 11-6. 

They rebounded on Saturday, picking up a 12-7 win over the Neilburg Monarchs and a 9-2 victory over the Kindersley Royals.  

In the semi-finals, they defeated the Battlefords Beavers 13-3.  

The Lakers faced the Swift Current 57’s in the final with Watrous in complete control on their way to an 11-1 win.  

Joyce Lockie, Jaxton Richard and Sam Brenner each had a home run in the win. 

Lockie pitched a complete game, allowing one run on four hits and had one strikeout.
