The Saskatoon Farm has closed its food service facilities indefinitely following an order from Alberta Health Services (AHS).

According to a notice posted by the business on Wednesday evening (July 23), the closure affects the farm’s restaurant, bakery, and Red House.

The order will remain in place until conclusive test results are returned as part of an ongoing AHS investigation.

AHS says a health inspector conducted a preliminary inspection of the business on July 19, with the investigation continuing this week.

In a separate update on Tuesday (July 22), the Saskatoon Farm confirmed an investigation was underway and said it had been "made aware of unprecedented changes to our water quality at the farm."

The Saskatoon Farm says it is fully cooperating with AHS and taking the necessary steps toward a safe reopening, though no timeline has been provided.

Other parts of the farm remain open, including the front office, gift store, and outdoor market stand.

The business noted that its market produce is rinsed with non-potable water that has been tested and approved by AHS, and is reminding customers to thoroughly wash all produce at home before consuming.
