A song that featured Alberta band Nice Horse, which has some Airdrie roots, has been nominated for an award at the 2025 Calgary Music Awards (YYCMA).
Last week, it was announced that the song called Being Awesome by Amy Hef has been nominated for Country Recording of the Year
Katie Rox, one of the band's lead singers (Nice Horse), was born and raised in Airdrie.
The awards show will take place on September 28 at the Grey Eagle Casino Event Centre. For a full list of award nominees, click HERE.
This upcoming weekend, Nice Horse will be performing on the main stage of Big Valley Jamboree alongside big names like Blake Shelton, Jason Aldean and Bailey Zimmerman.
In a previous interview with DiscoverAirdrie, Rox shared that they are excited for the opportunity.
"It's a real thrill for us. This year was the first year we started playing a lot of main stages (2024), and the fact that we're going to see more of that is very exciting."
Last year, Airdronian Edwardson walked away with some hardware at the YYC Music Awards. He captured the Emerging Artist of 2024 award.
