Covering more than 100 acres of historical displays, demonstrations, and attractions, the Manitoba Threshermen's Reunion and Stampede in Austin, Manitoba is a celebration of prairie heritage that attracts thousands of visitors each summer. With so much ground to cover, the on-site shuttle system is more than just a convenience – it's a necessity.
Thanks to the continued support of Drummond's Farm Services in nearby Holland, visitors can enjoy the ease and accessibility of free shuttle rides across the expansive festival grounds, July 24th to 27th. The local business has stepped up once again as the official shuttle sponsor, providing the horsepower behind the service that keeps the event moving.
Making the grounds more accessible
"Drummond’s Farm Services have been a longstanding supporter of the festival, and we're pleased they've returned as our official shuttle sponsor," says Elliott Simms, executive director of the Manitoba Agricultural Museum. "With everything spread out across over 100 acres, having to walk the entire site can really tire you out."
The shuttle system, operating from the time the gates open until the late-night Stampede after-party, allows guests to hop on and off at various locations, helping them get to events and exhibits quickly and comfortably.
"You could easily walk more than 10,000 steps in a day here," Simms says. "And sometimes walking just isn't practical if you're trying to catch scheduled events on opposite sides of the grounds. The shuttle makes life a little easier."
A ride for everyone
With four shuttles running throughout the day, the system helps ease mobility for guests of all ages and abilities. From the parking lot to the grandstand and arena complex, the service covers key areas to ensure that everyone can take part in the festivities.
"Anything we can do to reduce the amount of walking is greatly appreciated by our over 12,000 annual visitors," Simms says. "It really improves the overall experience."
Thanks to Drummond's Farm Services’ partnership, visitors will enjoy continued accessibility and comfort at this year’s Manitoba Threshermen’s Reunion and Stampede, from July 24th to 27th. To learn more about the event or purchase tickets, visit mbagmuseum.ca.
