The third annual Diamond Valley Show & Shine continues to bring people together.

Since the amalgamation of Black Diamond and Turner Valley into Diamond Valley, the event has been filling up the streets with rods, trucks and people.

The sprinkling of rain couldn't stop vehicle enthusiasts from smiling and checking out a wide variety of makes and models.

Food trucks were covering a wide variety of tastes, and they even blew an engine... on purpose.

The Diamond Valley Firefighters donated the 'beater' to the car show to be used for a 50/50 draw fundraiser.

The engine was drained of all its fluids, and at high noon, it was started. There wasn't any muffler either, so it was louder than usual, and it only took 20 seconds for the engine to seize in front of a sizable crowd.

It was all put together thanks to the Diamond Valley Car Club, including Chris Challice, Jeff Cooke, and Tom Pharis.

The Teamsters 362 showed up and set up their soundstage so DJ Aaron could pump out the music and keep everyone informed about events and activities going on.

At only $20 (cash) per entry, the streets filled up fast, just not as fast as last year when it was incredibly hot outside.

The event started at 10 a.m. and was a bit sluggish to start, but it got much busier closer to noon, then the rain eased up as more and more people came out.

The car club thanks their main sponsors, Okotoks Ford, South Pointe Toyota, Aaron Drilling and the Teamsters.

There was even a pancake breakfast for car club members and a beer garden for all.

The event wound down at 4 p.m.
