MB Hydro planned power outage for Schanzenfeld, Hochfeld, and Schoenweise

Roughly 1,250 Manitoba Hydro customers south of Winkler will be without power today, as crews carry out planned maintenance work. 

The outage will affect the communities of Schanzenfeld, Hochfeld, and Schoenweise, and is scheduled to run from approximately 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. 

According to Manitoba Hydro, the work involves replacing critical infrastructure, including poles and switches. The current switches have been repaired in the past to maintain service, but have now reached the end of their life and require upgrading. Hydro says the proactive replacement will help reduce the risk of unexpected and prolonged outages in the future.
