Another rainy evening on Sunday, July 27, marked the fourth and final night of the Battle of the Foothills.
The championship final heat featured Dustin Gorst, Evan Magee, Cruise Bensmiller, and reigning champion Chanse Vigen.
Vigen, who claimed the Rangeland Derby title two weeks earlier, successfully defended his Battle of the Foothills title from last year, finishing just five one-hundredths of a second ahead of Bensmiller.
Dustin Gorst took third, with Evan Magee finishing fourth. It was Magee's first appearance in a championship final, having rocketed from 12th to second in the aggregate the night before.
Day 4 saw a rare tie for first place overall between Rae Croteau Jr. and Lane Tournier.
High River local Jason Glass placed 19th on the night, with Blackie's Jordie Fike finishing 10th and Dayton Sutherland of De Winton coming in 7th.
The WPCA Pro Tour heads north this Friday, August 1, for the Strathmore Stampede.
