Town of High River
The Town of High River wants to hear from residents about future development in the northeast corner of town.
Work is underway on the Northeast Area Structure Plan (ASP), which will guide future development across approximately 778 acres of land annexed from Foothills County in 2012 and 2021.
"With increasing development interest, the Town sees this as an opportunity to plan for resilient growth over time," reads the Town’s website. "This area offers the potential for walkable, mixed-use neighbourhoods, with development capitalizing on the proximity to the highway, associated employment opportunities, and coordinated infrastructure solutions."
Area Structure Plans (ASPs) serve as blueprints for future land use, transportation networks, municipal services, and development policies within a designated area.
Round one of public engagement includes an open house and an online survey to gather community input as the Northeast ASP is developed.
The open house will take place on Tuesday, July 29, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Highwood Centre.
The online survey will be open from July 29 to August 5.
