A new cloud of smoke has drifted into the southeast, and Environment and Climate Change Canada has sent out an air quality warning for the area.
In their warning, they state that smoke is expected to cause poor air quality and reduced visibility today, with more haze expected to stick around tomorrow.
Air quality and visibility due to wildfire smoke are likely to fluctuate between locations, with that thinning and thickening hour to hour.
People are urged to limit their time outdoors and to reschedule any events if at all possible. Anyone who must be outside, such as for work, should consider wearing masks or taking breaks inside a ventilated structure.
People should also check in on others as the smoke drifts through, including those who are vulnerable, such as the elderly or those with preexisting conditions.
The warning is expected to be lifted by Wednesday as the skies clear up.
