The inspections, scheduled for July 29 and 30 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., will focus on E1 lift stations across the area. In a July 28 update titled, the County wrote that crews will be present in marked vehicles and carrying official identification.

“Staff will knock on doors before entering yards and will not enter homes,” the notice stated. “These inspections are critical in helping identify whether groundwater is entering the wastewater system.”

The County said inflow volumes to the treatment plant had “decreased slightly, though they remain well above system capacity.” Crews are continuing to haul excess wastewater and use system storage to manage volumes.

The July 28 update thanked residents for their continued efforts to limit water use.

“Your water conservation efforts are helping — thank you!” the County wrote. “Your efforts are making a meaningful impact.”

The inspections follow a July 24 urgent wastewater advisory that said the Bragg Creek system was “experiencing higher than normal flows, putting it at risk of overload and potential backups.”

Residents were asked to delay doing laundry, minimize toilet flushing and dishwasher use, reduce long showers, and ensure sump pumps were not discharging into the sanitary sewer.

In a separate notice posted the same day, the County wrote that sump pumps connected to the sewer system can “overwhelm the system, cause backups, and increase maintenance costs.”

“Sump pumps are meant to move groundwater away from your home’s foundation, not into the wastewater system,” the notice stated.

Drinking water is not affected.
