Police foiled a robbery in Lancer.

Monday morning at approximately 10:45 AM, the Leader RCMP received a report of a robbery at a business in Lancer.

Police say a woman came into the business and demanded cash from an employee inside. 

Their investigation found that the woman told the employee she had a weapon, took the money, and left the business on foot.

Leader RCMP located and arrested her outside a residence in Lancer.

They also recovered the stolen money.

Police say further investigation determined the suspect didn't have a weapon.

53-year-old Shirley Johnson from Lancer is charged with one count of robbery, threats of a firearm, and one count of theft over $5000.

She appeared in Swift Current provincial court earlier today.
