The Swift Current Broncos added some depth to their forward group today.

They sent a conditional 2027 8th round WHL Prospects Draft Pick to the Everett Silvertips for forward Remy Hlady.

"A 200-foot guy," said Broncos GM Chad Leslie. "There's some offensive upside there in his past. Just in the situation that we're in with a young forward group and a free look at a player. I think it's a good opportunity for him and a good opportunity for us."

Hlady is a 2007-born forward from Tyndall, Manitoba. He scored 20 goals and added 30 assists in 56 games for the MJHL's Selkirk Steelers last season.

"Historically, we've seen the difference between a guy who can be a regular every day WHL player versus a junior a guy that is a really good player is consistency. I think with Remy, you see flashes of him being a really good player. It's just an inconsistency thing with Remy, I think. There are signs of being a player."

Hlady was named CSSHL U16 MVP in 2022-23 when he put up 56 points in 35 games for Rink Hockey Acadmey.

He was an 8th round pick by Everett in the 2022 WHL Prospects Draft and nabbed 3rd overall by Selkirk in the 2023 MJHL Draft.

Hlady is also committed to the University of Alaska-Anchorage in the NCAA after his junior career.

"He's shown it in flashes throughout his career," Leslie said. "I certainly feel he deserves an opportunity at camp to show us what he can do."

Hlady joins a Broncos forward group that got much younger in the offseason thanks to trades, graduations, and departures to NCAA programs.
