July 30th Report:
IPDA (Intoxicated Persons Detention Act) / Breach of the Peace
In the past 24 hours six individuals were arrested for Breach of the Peace and two were arrested for IPDA. They were all held in detention cells at Brandon Police Service (BPS) and will be released in the morning once sober.
Arrest Warrant
A 33-year-old female turned herself in to BPS upon being contacted about her Warrant of Arrest (Theft Under $5000). She was released via Appearance Notice with a court date of August 28th, 2025.
Assault
On July 29th at 7:11AM Police were notified of a domestic situation in progress. BPS officers attended and discovered a highly intoxicated 42-year-old female had assaulted her 27-year-old male partner. The female was arrested and held in BPS detention cells, to be released once sober on Undertaking conditions with a court date of October 16th, 2025.
Theft Under $5000 / Breach of Undertaking
On July 29th at 4:04PM a Loss Prevention Officer from a business in the 900 block of Victoria Avenue reported that they had a male detained for shoplifting. The male was on previous conditions not to attend the store. BPS officers attended and arrested the 42-year-old male. He was later released on an Appearance Notice with a court date of September 22nd, 2025.
July 29th Report:
IPDA (Intoxicated Persons Detention Act) / Breach of the Peace
In the last twenty-four hours there were four individuals arrested for IPDA and two for Breach of the Peace. These individuals were held in detention cells to prevent further issues and/or self-harm and will be released in the morning once sober.
Failure to Comply Undertaking / Ticket
On July 28th at 12:45PM a traffic stop was conducted in the 1200 block of 10th Street. A 28-year-old female driver, when asked for license and registration, replied “I don’t have a license”. The female was also bound by an Undertaking not to communicate with a 22-year-old male that was within the vehicle. She was arrested and charged with Failure to Comply with Undertaking as well as she received a ticket for driving while not holding a valid license. She was later released via Appearance Notice with a court date of October 2nd, 2025.
Assault with a Weapon / Possession of a Weapon
On July 29th at 12:33AM Police responded to a report that a female had just been chased by a male with a handgun near a hotel on the 3100 block of Victoria Avenue. Police attended and located the victim with hotel security and a First Nation Safety Officer. BPS officers patrolled the area and located the suspect on the east side of the hotel. He was arrested, held in detention cells and will attend court in the morning on July 29th, 2025.
