The Moose Jaw Health Foundation (MJHF) is nearing the final weeks of its 30th annual Concerts in the Park series — a free summer tradition that fills Crescent Park with music, dancing, and community spirit.

Executive Director Kelly McElree says the community continues to show up with generosity and good cheer.

“Every year people come out to Concerts in the Park for a toe-tapping good time, and this year is no different,” he said. “It is a Moose Jaw tradition. All these groups volunteer their time to the foundation to entertain the fine folks of Moose Jaw and people that are visiting our community.”

“It’s been full of music, memories, and lots of community spirit,” he added.

“I always enjoy emceeing Concerts in the Park. I look forward to seeing so many of our donors that come out every year and each week and support the foundation and hear about the campaigns that we have and how their dollars are going to work.”

A few performances remain on the 2025 schedule, including returning favourites like the Heritage Fiddlers on August 6. The series will close with a bang on August 20, when Rory Allen hits the stage with his crowd-pleasing Elvis tribute.

Once summer winds down, the Foundation shifts its focus to the fall — and its major October fundraising event, the Festival of Trees.

“We always promise every year that we'll be back the following year for Concerts in the Park,” McElree said. “But we're going to continue our Faster Scans, Better Care campaign, which is upgrading the MRI (at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital), and our next big event is Festival of Trees.”

The Festival of Trees was officially launched July 10 at the headquarters of major donor JGL.

The 2025 theme is Disco in Denim, bringing country charm together with disco beats.

“When you support Festival of Trees, you’re not just grabbing a ticket or bidding on a sparkly centrepiece or tree,” said Ryan Hrechka, chair of the MJHF, at the launch event.

“You’re giving someone the gift of hope right here at home. You’re helping someone’s family look forward to a brighter tomorrow.”

This year’s Festival of Trees is scheduled for Saturday, October 25 at Temple Gardens. Tickets go on sale August 18.
