Whether you’re a lifelong rodeo fan or just looking for a fun family outing or some free Full Line Ag Fun Bucks to be used at the Million-Dollar Auction later in September, this weekend is the perfect time to hit the open road.
Thursday: Showdown in Cowtown – 5 PM to 10 PM
The week of fun kicks off in Maple Creek with the high-energy Showdown in Cowtown on Friday evening. From bronc riding to barrel racing, you can expect a full slate of classic rodeo events paired with a lively crowd and small-town charm. Gates open at 5 PM—grab a seat early and settle in for a night of adrenaline and entertainment.
Saturday: The Herbert Stampede/Parade- 11 AM to 6 PM
Brings hometown hospitality and top-tier talent together for a full day of thrills. Watch competitors from across the province put their skills to the test in bull riding, roping, and more. It’s a great chance to soak up some sunshine and take in authentic rodeo culture right in the heart of the prairies. If you're looking for something before the rodeo action starting at 2 p.m., but sure to check the town's parade at 11 a.m. followed by a market along main street with lots of food. There's even a car show!
Mud Bog and a Rodeo Sunday!
Tompkins Rodeo – 1 PM to 4 PM
Sunday kicks off in Tompkins with an afternoon of muddy fun. The Tompkins Redneck Rally Mud Bog starting at 1 PM is a great way to help the village celebrate its homecoming, that's hosted every five years. The event is operating under Chinook Mud Bog Association rules and is presented by the Tompkins Skating Rink Board and the Tompkins Community Hall.
Consul Rodeo – 6 PM to 8 PM
Wrap up your weekend in Consul, where the evening rodeo runs from 6 to 8 p.m. With the sun setting and the dust flying, it’s the perfect finale to a weekend full of horsepower, heart, and hometown pride.
