We’re excited to officially welcome Blaine Weyland as the new Play-by-Play Announcer for the Humboldt Broncos!
A proud Humboldt native, Blaine grew up with the Elgar Petersen Arena quite literally in sight—watching the rink from his kitchen window and developing a lifelong passion for Broncos hockey. He spent over a decade in Humboldt Minor Hockey and has continued to stay closely connected to the game ever since.
Blaine brings a wealth of experience behind the mic, having served as a colour commentator for two years with Yorkton and Melville, as well as with Swan Valley and Waywayseecappo of the MJHL. He spent five seasons as the play-by-play voice of the Estevan Bruins and also worked as a beat reporter for the Saskatchewan Roughriders for two years.
Bronco fans may recognize Blaine from his previous time filling in as our play-by-play announcer during the 2016–18 seasons and again in 2024–25. His connection to the team and community runs deep, and we’re thrilled to have him officially take on the role this season.
Please join us in welcoming Blaine to the broadcast booth for the 2025–26 season—your Broncos hockey experience just got even better!
