Ground Squirrels turn to local arms

There was a local feel to the Speedy Creek Ground Squirrels last night.

The Swift Current 57's transformed into the Ground Squirrels for one night only in a 7-1 loss to the Medicine Hat Mavericks.

Some call-ups from the Swift Current 18U AAA 57's have been seeing time on the WCBL club down the stretch.

All four pitchers for the Ground Squirrels were southwest products as Kyrell Adair, Jase Johnson, Mason Fauser, and Keegan Kristmanson all saw time on the mound.

Wilmer Henriquez hit his 12th home run of the season for Speedy Creek.

Rydell Adair went 2 for 4 on the night.

The Ground Squirrels transform back into the 57's in time for tonight's visit to Moose Jaw.

There are only five games left on Swift Current's WCBL regular season schedule.
