Duchak, James (Jim) Mark

May 25, 1956 – July 25, 2025

Jim passed away peacefully after a fierce, but brief battle with Leukemia. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, Jim was just days away from celebrating 42 years of marriage with his beloved wife Lorrie. Jim was born and raised in Moose Jaw. In his mid-twenties he moved to Saskatoon and got a job at St. Paul’s Hospital, where he worked in numerous departments. It was there where he met his wife, Lorrie. Together they created a beautiful life with their daughter, Tanya and son, Trevor. Throughout his life he loved attending his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events, where he met numerous friends. Jim’s warmth, humor and unwavering love for his family will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those he loved.

Jim is survived by his daughter, Tanya (Scott) Malek and their children, Owen and Luke; son, Trevor (Kristy) and their children, Grayson, Brecker and Maeva. He is also survived by his brothers, Robert, Grant (Laurie) and Kelly; niece, Tristen Duchak; father-in-law, Barry Wood; sisters-in-law, Sherry (Russ), Donna (Scott), and Val; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses and the medical team on the bone marrow transplant at Royal University Hospital for the wonderful care he received. A special and personal thank you to Dr. Sabry and Dr. Moodly for their exceptional care, compassion and unwavering support.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home (210 Wess Rd.).
