In a Facebook post published Thursday, July 31, 2025, the Town of Crossfield said it has “received reports of an individual in the Harrison area going door-to-door claiming to represent the Town.”

“The individual is reportedly offering green bin deliveries in exchange for a $75 deposit taken by credit card.”

“The person is not affiliated with the Town of Crossfield, and there is currently no green bin program being offered.”

The post said residents should check their credit card statements and contact their provider “if you notice any suspicious or unauthorized transactions.”

“We thank residents for remaining alert and helping keep our community safe,” the Town said.
