An Airdrie athlete is among six Albertans invited to compete for a spot on Canada’s National Women’s Under-18 Team.
Alexis Ehrman received an invitation to attend the U18 selection camp, running August 6–9 at WinSport in Calgary. The camp features on- and off-ice sessions and three Red-White intrasquad games scheduled for August 7–9.
Ehrman is one of five Hockey Alberta alumni named to the selection camp roster, alongside Rowan Houweling (Edmonton), Ciara Lang (Sherwood Park), Madison Terry (Edmonton), and Tayla Lamabe (Sherwood Park).
Following the camp, Team Canada will face the United States in a three-game series August 13–16 at the Herb Brooks Arena in Lake Placid, New York.
Canada is defending its gold medal on home ice at the 2026 IIHF U18 Women’s World Championship, scheduled for January 8–18 in Sydney and Membertou, Nova Scotia.
All five U18 invitees are also hopefuls to crack Team Alberta’s roster for the 2025 U18 Female Fall Camp. The final team will compete at the national championship in Newfoundland and Labrador, November 2–8, with games in Mount Pearl and Conception Bay South.
Calgary local Makayla Watson has joined Canada’s National Women’s Under-22 Development Team. That team will also face the United States in a three-game series from August 13–16 in Lake Placid.
