A barn dance fundraiser at Keg Creek Ranch is set to bring music, supper and community spirit together on Aug. 29, with proceeds going toward outdoor upgrades at the Stoughton Early Learning Facility.
“We’ve got the gates open at 5:30 and we’ve got supper at 6:30,” said organizer Kerry Gilroy. “We’re going to have a barn dance with JJ Voss at 8:00, and we’re raising money for the Stoughton Early Learning Facility.”

The event will feature smoked brisket, baked beans and salad, with tickets priced at $50. A silent auction will also be held to support the daycare’s playground apparatus fund.
Amanda Amy, executive director of the facility, said the fundraiser will help expand the daycare’s limited green space and improve safety and accessibility.
“Our backyard is pretty small, so we’re going to expand it to another lot,” Amy said. “We also have no play stations out there. We just have a play structure... and a gazebo that we just got this year for some shade because it’s completely open to the elements.”

Amy said the facility, which began in 2014, now serves up to 40 children with about 30 to 35 attending daily.
Tickets for the barn dance are available at Henders Drugs (cash only) or by e-transfer to kcrranch@hotmail.com. A safe ride home will be provided by Driver’s Choice, with drop-off at the Estevan Leisure Centre.
“We just want to make sure that everyone’s having a good time and be safe as well,” Gilroy said.
