The mudslide occurred south of the Mount Lipsett trailhead and led to a full closure on August 3. Alberta Parks had warned that both vehicle and pedestrian access were unsafe due to landslide conditions.
Affected access points included:
-
Mount Lipsett Scramble
-
Mist Mountain Scramble South
-
Mist Hot Springs Trail
-
Portions of Elbow-Sheep Wildland Provincial Park
Cleanup work remains ongoing. Alberta Parks has not yet issued a revised bulletin indicating whether trail access is restored.
