The RCMP Southern Alberta Crime Reduction Unit (SAD CRU) have charged two individuals for stolen property.
On July 25, the RCMP received information that power tools were stolen earlier in the week from a work site in Ardrossan and were entering the region.
RCMP were able to identify an occupied vehicle containing the stolen equipment.
SAD CRU, with assistance from the Banff RCMP, arrested the two occupants in the vehicle in Banff.
Following an investigation, it was determined that the suspects were planning to sell the equipment outside of the province.
Kenneth Ruth, 46, and Lindsay Slaby, 41, of Edmonton, have been charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
Both were released from custody to appear at the Alberta Court of Justice in Canmore on Sept. 24.
The stolen equipment has since been returned to the owner.
