Airdronian Emily Marston had a busy Saturday in Calgary, as she modelled in the Bathala International World Fashion Festival.

She explained the event is a celebration of international designers from around the world.

"I got to wear some incredible clothing, stuff that you see at New York Fashion Week, Toronto Fashion Week, Paris Fashion Week.

Being the second year of the event, Marston explained that it has grown immensely. Having a background in the pageant community, being Miss Rodeo Airdrie for a year and Miss Calgary for a year, helped her model in this event.

A designer from the Philippines (Glenn Gonzales) originally asked her to showcase a collection they had for the event.

"I was very honoured and very grateful to be able to do that."

"Bathala International do these amazing and gorgeous pageant gowns, high-end evening gowns, designer dresses for pageant girls, but also for celebrities, and so I got to wear some of their clothes as well."

She also shared that some of the designers who were at the event will be attending other large events like New York Fashion Week.

"It's incredible to see the artistic side of Calgary and Airdrie, and how fast it's growing, and the fact that it's being recognized on an international scale, and especially national scale. It's wonderful to see, and I'd love to keep seeing it grow."
