The 13U AAA Estevan Brewers grasped a podium finish at provincials over the weekend as they played in Saskatoon.
The team placed 3rd out of 16 teams from across the province at Tier 1 Provincials, settling at a 3-1 record.
A victory was quickly grabbed in their first game against the Regina Athletics, 14-13 on Friday, scoring 6 runs in the bottom of the 7th. Saturday continued their winning streak with a game against the Regina White Sox, which ended 19-9. That set up a showdown against the White Butte Broncos Saturday night for first in the pool on the line. The Brewers won that game 9-8, securing three runs in the bottom of the 7th to win.
The Brewers then played in the semi-finals, taking on the Moose Jaw Canucks. The team was unable to overcome their competitors, losing 13-3. The Canucks would then go on to win the tournament.
in a Facebook post, the team thanked coaches Parker, Scott, Riley, and Nathan for all the work they put in over the year to help the team get so far over the season.
