Wednesday, August 6th Report: 

Arrest Warrant 

On August 5th at 12:20PM a female who was known to police was spotted in the 700 block of Rosser Avenue. A persons check was conducted, and it was confirmed the 32-year-old female had an Unendorsed Warrant for Arrest. She was arrested and held in BPS (Brandon Police Service) detention cells to attend court. 

  

IPDA (Intoxicated Persons Detention Act) 

On August 5th at 8:07PM Police responded to a disturbance on church grounds in the 400 block of 13th Street. A highly intoxicated 33-year-old male was arrested and held at BPS detention cells. He will be released once sober. 

  

Breach of the Peace 

Police responded to several separate calls of a disturbance at a hotel in the 900 block of Middleton Avenue just before 11:00PM on August 5th. One individual, a 26-year-old male, was found to be the cause of issues and due to intoxication levels, he was no longer welcome at the hotel room he had been attending. He was arrested and held at BPS detention cells. He will be released once sober. 

  

Breach of the Peace 

On August 5th at 11:25PM police were called to a residence in the 2300 block of Victoria Avenue. A 37-year-old female, who shared children with the homeowner but did not live there, had entered the home via a window and had taken a child’s cell phone. She fled prior to police arrival but was located by police around the 3400 block of Victoria Avenue. The phone was taken back to the homeowner and the phone was confirmed by password and email to be the homeowners. The female was taken to BPS detention cells and held for the night. She will be released once sober. 

  

Operation While Impaired / Operation Exceeding 80mgs% 

On August 6th at approximately 1:14 AM, a vehicle was stopped in the 1000 block of Louise Avenue East. The stop was initiated due to the driver’s failure to signal a turn and the presence of improper equipment, including malfunctioning headlights and brake lights. Upon further investigation, it was determined that the driver did not possess a valid driver’s license. The driver subsequently provided breath samples of 100 mgs% and 90 mgs% on an Approved Screening Device (ASD), both exceeding the legal limit. As a result, the driver was arrested and charged accordingly. 

  

First Nation Safety Officer Arrests (FNSO) IPDA 

On August 5th FNSO’s brought five individuals to BPS from four different hotels due to disturbances and intoxication levels. The individuals will be released once sober. 

  

Possession of Property Obtained by Crime 

On August 6th at approximately 5:05 AM, a taxi driver reported that after dropping off five individuals in the 1300 block of Victoria Avenue, one of the passengers took the driver’s bag, which contained cash and receipts, upon exiting the vehicle. Police were able to quickly locate the suspects, and a 31-year-old female was arrested and charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime. The stolen property was recovered and returned to its rightful owner. The accused will be released in the morning once sober and is scheduled to appear in court on October 20th, 2025. 

 

 

Tuesday, August 5th Report: 

Theft  

37-year-old male theft from superstore. The male was already on orders not to be in Superstore for a precious theft and charged accordingly. 

  

Multiple Warrant Arrests 

 29-year-old male arrested on a warrant for Disobey Court Order. Released for a court date in early September. 

  

29-year-old male held in custody for an unendorsed warrant of a arrest for failing to attend court, assault and failing to comply with his probation. Lodged for court. 

  

A 34-year-old female was arrested under strength of a Portage RCMP warrant after she was located during a traffic stop on the North Hill of Brandon. The female was released on an appearance notice showing a court date. 

  

Trespass By Night 

 35-year-old man was arrested for trespass by night for being in the yard of an east end home. The male was lodged for court in the am. 

 

Intoxicated Persons Detention Act 

 Within the past 24 hours, two individuals were arrested under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act. Both are being held at BPS and will be released when sober
