Two bridges being replaced in Nose Creek Park are still on track.
In recent years, several pedestrian bridges have been replaced in Nose Creek Park, with two more currently under construction.
Scott Fediow, a project manager with the Capital Projects Office, told DiscoverAirdrie that while the weather has been challenging, things are still looking good.
"The rain has pushed us a bit behind. However, the good news is that we were ahead of schedule to begin with. So long story short is we are still on schedule for our completion date in early September."
The bridges currently being replaced include one just west of the Catholic Church and then one further north. He went on to explain where the bridges are currently.
"The bridges are probably about 90 to 95 per cent complete. The next process, weather permitting, is the paving of the path access to and from the bridges."
Fediow explained that the paving should be completed within the next few weeks.
"We appreciate the residents bearing with us while these projects are taking place."
Two more bridges will be replaced next year, one being the purple bridge (south of the church) will be next, along with the bridge on the south side of Yankee Valley Boulevard over by the CO-OP.
He concluded by saying that once all the bridges in Nose Creek Park are switched over to the newer bridges, it will make the connectivity a lot better.
