If you've been away from town and are getting back into your regular routine, you'll want to refrain from turning onto Glenpatrick Dr. from 5th Ave. A major section is closed that will prevent you from using that route, unless you're destination is Cascade Place.
Work is progressing steadily on the Town of Cochrane’s two-year, $15-million reconstruction of Glenpatrick Drive, with underground utility installations now complete in the second segment of the project.
In Area 2—which spans from West Glenhill Drive and Glenpatrick Road to East Glenhill Drive and Glenpatrick Road—crews have completed installation of underground water, sanitary and storm lines. All service connections are now in place, and homes in both Areas 1 and 2 have been reconnected to the permanent water supply.
Crews are currently preparing the ground for the next layer of road base, and installation of catch basins. The road closure in the construction zone remains in effect, and walkways fronting the area are also closed off and clearly marked on the posted map.
Waste, recycling and organics collection is continuing as usual for residents in Area 2.
Meanwhile, construction has now begun in Area 3, covering addresses from 236 Glenpatrick Drive to 268 Glenpatrick Drive.
Crews have removed the asphalt road surface, and installation of a storm main and the placement of a water isolation valve is underway.
Affected homes were connected to temporary water service, with advance notices delivered to residents. Those planning to be away during the work were advised to contact the Standard General representative listed in their notice letters.
Temporary access routes to impacted homes were also established, and waste, recycling, and organics collection will continue during this portion of the construction.
As in other phases, the road closure and walkway restrictions will be in effect in Area 3.
The Glenpatrick Drive reconstruction project is expected to continue into 2026. The town is providing regular updates as each phase progresses.
